Three Oaks Gets Dewey Cannon.

The village of Three Oaks, Mich., has won the cannon which Admiral Dewey sent from Manila for the Maine monument fund. The cannon was to be given to the city or village making the largest contribu. tion in proportion to its population. Three Oaks, with a population of 800 to 1,000, raised $1,132. representing more than $1 per capita The cannon will occupy a place of honor in the center of the villiage park. Three Oaks in making the fight for the cannon issued a map of the world entitled ’’New map of the United States, showing leading cities and historical points, revised to date and magnifying certain sections as public interest demands.” The United States and its new possessions alone are shown The only cities shown are Chicago, Three Oaks and New York and the declaration “Three Oaks against the World” -
