A Big Stone Crusher Bought.
A good stone crushing plant, at Rensselaer, for which The Republican has said so much during the past few months, is now a settled Efact. D. H. Yeoman and Ancil Woodworth have bought a crusher which is now at Francesville, and it is expected that it will reach here today. It has a capacity of 12 or 14 tons per hour. Its cost, exclusive of a steam drill is about SI,OOO. The many advantages to the town and surrounding country in having a stone crushing plant here have already been several times enumorated. What is needed now is for our officials and business men 4o give it the proper encouragement. This encouragement is not wanted in the form of a bonus, but in a willingness to encourage in other ways. Thus we believe it would be right and proper for city and county authorities to agree with Messrs Yeoman and Woodworth to take a considerable quantity of crushed rock to be delivered during a series of years, while the Jasper County Drainage Association and other affected land owners could offer a good sum per yard for removing the jrock from the river.
