Valparaiso’s Small Pox Scare.
Asa result of the decision of the experts that Valparaiso has an epidemic of small pox, Secretary Hurty, of the State Board of Health, has sent a series of imperative orders which must be complied with at once, or the entire city will be quarantined. This order comprises the immediate vaccination of the entire population, and all who refuse, are to be placed in quarantine, for 15 days. All exposed persons are to be quarantined, for 15 days. All persons sick with the disease are to be taken to a special hospital, and cared for by special doctors and nurses. According to the Valparaiso papers only seven cases were found and all of whom are said to be getting along well.
