The Chicken-Pox Was Small-Pox
The state board of health has been a good deal concerned lately regarding certain cases of smallpox said to have originated from cases of alleged chicken-pox among the students of the normal school at Valparaiso. Thursday Dr. Brayton, of Indianapolis representing Dr. Hurty, of the state board of health aud Dr. Herman Spaulding, of Chicago, investigated the alleged chickenpox cases, at Valparaiso, and were of the opinion that the disease was small-pox, of a 'mild form. The state board of health is in great fear of a small-pox epidemic in this state, next winter, there being various other centers of infection besides Valparaiso.
