Mr. Quick and wife, of Francesville spent Sunday with friends here. Children’s Day services at the M. E. church Sunday evening June 18. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Russel who have lived in Rensselaer for some time, moved on the Fox farm last Last Friday evening, a host of friends, numbering about sixty, gathered at the home of Mrs. Tom Randle in honor of her thirty-fifth birthday. Among the guests were her two brothers, Dr. Tillet of Buffalo and James Tillet, of Peru. Refreshments consisted ofJJ ice cream, cake and strawberries. A very enjoyable time was had. She also received some presents. Children’s Day service was largely attended at the Christain church last Sunday. Charley and Cora Smith attended a surprise party in honor of Bessie Kimble, of Gillam, Tuesday night. Several people of Rensselaer spent Sunday in Barkley. Quite a number of the boys attended Children’s Day exercises in Francesville Sunday. Frank Faris and Mort Preve, of Gillam, spent Sunday with Barkley friends.
