She Was Hilariously Drunk.

A woman from south of Wheatfield, and who gires her name as Mrs. Bohns, got hilariously drunk here, Thursday afternoon. She was down as a witness in the case against Melser and Zimmer for assault. The woman is said to be the once notorious “Pet” Jones, of Rensselaer and who, years ago, with “Old Josh Jones” her husband, moved to Hammond. It see 1 s that Josh has either died or been superseded, and a new man has taken his place. If this Bohns woman is the same old Pet. she surely holds her age well, judging by the sprightliness of her gambols, yesterday. Evidently she is like Cleopatra, in the language of Shakespeare, one whom “age cannot wither nor custom stale”—any staler. Her daughter was with her, and was also pretty drunk. The old lady left town whooping and yelling and with her arm around the neck of John Klinger, the injured party in the case above mentioned.
