E. P. Honan has just recieved a letter from his nephew and a former Rensseloer boy, John Leahy, now in Porto Rico, He is still a member of the sth U. S. cavalry, but his term of enlistment will expire about July 15th. He ha£ learned to speak the Spanish language, and also the dialect of it as spoken by the common people of Porto Rico, and he is thinking very strongly ot remaining on the island, permanently, being of the opinion that he has good prospects there. He has recently been promoted to the Tank of a corporal.
