Changes in the Monon.
When it was announced that the Morgan syndicate had secured the control of the Monon, it was given out there would be no changes in any of the departments, and that the employes would retain their present positions. This, it is understood, was the wish of the present officers of the Monon, but they are not going to have their way about it. The new owners have announced that it will be the policy to reduce expenses wherever such reductions can be made without interfering with the business of the road. This is taken to mean that there will be consolidations with the Big Four in every department where it is possible, and some railroad men have gone so far as to say that the consolidations will all be effected by July 1. This, however, is not official. Subordinate officers of both roads say they have not received any notification of any impending changes, but that they expect them to come.—lndianapolisNews. Whatever changes the anticipated doubling up process may involve, The Call is confident that the Monon shops in this city will not be adversely affected; indeed, if there should be re-arrangement of Monon affairs Lafayette will not lose a single card as long as President W. H. McDoel and Director Murdock hold eyes of favor on the Star City and can protect its interests. —Lafayette Call.
