County news
NORTH BARKLEY. We are having a new 70 ft iron bridge put in at North Lawn. James Myers is on the sick list. Dr. Johnson of Rensselaer is attending him. William Hickman has moved to Comer. Mr. Schofield was in Fair Oaks Saturday. Charley Bowers and George Beedy are shelling corn at DeMotte this week. William Collins has moved to Record Heights two miles east of Gifford. Sam Bowers has returned to this vicinity and is teaming. Miss Lizzie Ahlers is visiting in Rensselaer this week. Ora Morgan and Miss Ethel Hann attended church at Valma Sunday evening. The agent of the Singer sewing machine of Rensselaer was in this vicinity several days last week. We wonder what all that new furniture at Comer means? I bet a penny the boys are not going to ‘‘batch.”
