County news

From Milroy Township. The people met st Milroy graveyard Saturday, May 20th, and elected officers for the cemetery for two years, J. Johns, president, W. Barlow, treasurer, H. Beaver, secretary. The farmers say this is the must backward spring for 20 years. More than half the people are not half done plowing. Oats look fairly well. There is but little wheat, and that won’t make 10 bushel to the acre. Old Uncle Peter Foulks says Milroy has doubled his wealth in 10 years, and he says farmers should not be discouraged because of a backward spring. Richard Foulks has dug a well in his pasture, which he says is the finest water in the township.
