Working on a New Tack.
Rev. S. E. Nicholson, of Kokomo, author of Nicholson liquor law, and field secretary of the An-ti-Saloon League of Indiana, says that the league is now preparing to make a test of the constitutionality of the license law of Indiana. Suits are pending in a number of places against saloon men for maintaining a nuisance. These suits, begun by the league, in volve the question of the right of the state to license a business tfhich demoralizes society.
Sunday School Convention.
Wheatfield tp. will hold her annual S. S. convention at the M. E. church, Wheatfield May 28, ’99. An afternoon and evening session -will be held. We hope to make these sessions interesting and important. Come one, come all. . Those from a distance will be cared for by the committee on entertainment.

Low Lodge Rates to Indianapolis.
On account, of the I. O. O. F. Grand Lodge, and Rebekah Assembly of Indiana, at Indianapolis, May 15th to 18th, 1899, the Monon B. R. will sell special excursion tickets to Indianapolis and return at one fare for round trip. Dates of sale May 15 and 16, good to return to and including May 19th. Notice Of Quarterly Meeting.
The third Quarterly meeting of Rensselaer circuit will be held at Egypt school house May 20 and 21. Meeting will begin on Friday night, business meeting on Saturday at 2:30 o’clock p. m. Sunday Rates Via Monon Route.
The Monon Route will sell every Sunday until further notice tickets, Rensselaer to points on its own line where the one way rate is $3.60 or less at rate of one fare for the round trip, tickets limited good going and returning on date of sale. As per above return trips can be made to Chicago for $2.20, to Cedar Lake SI.OO, to Monticello 75 cents etc., good going and returning on Sunday only.
