The State G. A. R. Encampment.
The 20th annual encampment, Department of Indiana, G. A. R. will be held at Terre Haute, May 23, 24, 25, and the citizens of that city are doing everything possible to make the meeting a very pleasant one for the old soldiers, the Relief Corps and Ladies of the G. A. R. who attend. All three of these patriotic orders will be represented from Rensselaer. Special railroad rates of 1 cent a mile, from Indiana points and also special hotel rates are given those who attend the encampment. A sham battle on the afternoon of the 23rd will take place on Terre Haute’s world famous race track. Special efforts are being made to entertain representatives of the Women’s Relief Corps and Ladies of the G. A. R., both of which excellent orders, are fully recognized as honored and authorized co-ordinate branches of lhe G. A, R.
