The Coal Road Revived.
At last regular trains are to be run again on that part of the old Chioago & Indiana Coal Railroad, now a branch of the Chicago & Eastern Illinois, which runs from Goodland to LaCross, and passing through the towns of Foresman and Mt. Ayr, in Newton county, and Fair Oaks, Virgie, Kniman and Wheatfield in this county. The time set for putting on the regular trains is next Monday, May 15th. One train will leave Goodland at 8:30 a. m. and another at LaCross at the same time, and they will meet at Fair Oaks. This will be a great thing for the towns along the line and the people are rejoicing accordingly. All of these towns above mentioned, except Fair Oaks and Wheatfield, which have other railroad connections, are now supplied with mail by star routes from other points. These we understand, are all to be discontinued, it being a condition made by the railroad company, that it should carry the mails if it put on the new trains.
