Farmers are plowing for corn. Clarence Powell has the measles. Singing sobool closed April 26. Charles and Georgs Jones formerly of this place but now of Chicago are visiting relatives here. Warren and Jessie White did shopping in Valparaiso last week. The Van Patten and Dunville schools closed Saturday. John Biggs and family spent Sunday with the family of D. Collins. Manda Hoyes and McDadc Collins visited in Rensselaer Saturday. J. C. Kaupke transacted business in Rensselaer the first of the week. v* Emma Henry left for her home in Boone Co. Monday. Bert Vauderoar and Netta Collins took the teachers examination Saturday. Mrs. Durfllinger who has been very sick is improving.
