Monon Transfer Made.
Road Passed into Control of the J. P. Morgan Syndicate. The Monon at noon Tuesday passed to the control of the J. P. Morgan syndicate. Samuel Thomas resigned as president, and W. H. MoDoel was elected president. It is reported also that on his return from Europe C. E. Shaff, now general manager of the Big Four, will be made general manager of the Monon, but this is not official and may not be carried out. For the present Mr. McDoel will continue as managing officer. The stockholders’ meeting was held at New York Tuesday, and six of the Monon directors resigned. The new directors elected in their stead are: Richard Trimble, Anthony J. Thomas, Amos P. French, Temple Bowdoin, R. N. Galloway and C. H. Coster. The Monon directors re-elected were: Samuel Thomas, W. H. McDoe], G. B. Shaw, James Murdock and Volney T. Malott. The other officers elected are: Anthony J. Thomas, vice president; W. H. Lewis, treasurer and assistant secretary; J. A. Bolton, secretary and assistant treasurer. For the present there will be no changes in the official staff of the Monon, and the operation and policy will remain as it is now until about the Ist of June. Gen. Samuel Thomas gave a bill of sale to C. H. Coster, of the firm of J. Pierpont Morgan & Co., which bore over 1,000 revenue stamps of large denomination, and is supposed to be for a controlling interest in the stock.
