Four Score and Ten Years.
Uncle Isaac Sayler is ninety years old today, and the occasion was celebrated by a big dinner at his home with his daughter, Miss Ellen Sayler, in the northwest part of town. Uncle Isaac is the next to the oldest of the noted Sayler brothers of whom six are now living. Namely Jacob Sayler, 93 years old, Isaac 90, Micah 84, Henry 82, Samuel 80, Lewis 69. All live in Rensselaer or its immediate vicinity except Samuel, who lives in Ohio. Uncle Isaac and his wife Elizabeth celebrated their golden wedding in 1883. In 1893 they observed their 60 anniversary, and that same year his wife died. Of his five children three were present at the dinner. Also 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Those present from other places were Mrs. L. L. Daughtery, of Hammond, a daughter, and Mrs. Ellen Hamilton, of Royal Center, and Mrs. Maggie Banta, of Logansport, who are nieces.
