Logansport Presbytery.

Prepared for General Assembly in May. Next meeting in Rensselaer. The Logansport Presbytery, which was in session Tuesday and Wednesday, in Brookston, will meet next time in Rensselaer. Dr. Putman, of Logansport, was appointed principal ministerial commissioner and Mr. Small, a newspaper man of the same city, lay commissioner to the general assembly, which will meet in May in Minneapolis, Minn. In the case of Rev. John C. Breckenridge, of Bourbon, Ind., who had accepted a call to Orville, 0., against a strong protest from his congrgation, it was decided by a vote of 14 to 12 that relations should not be dissolved, and Mr. Breckenridge will remain in Bourbon'. At the closing session, Wednesday night, Dr. Henry Webb Johnson, of South Bend, delivered his new lecture on "Oliver Cromwell, or a chapter in English history.” The next meeting which is to be held here, will be in September. The fall meeting is not usually as important or as largely attended as the spring meeting, but as the meeting* at Brookston was not largely attended it is thought that the fall meeting here will be the larger of the two. Elder D. E. Hollister represented the Rensselaer church at the Brookston meeting.
