The W. C. T. U. Meetings.

The closing meeting of the W. C. T. U. normal institute was held Tuesday evening. Miss Mattie Cammack, of Marion, the state organizer, was present and delivered an interesting address in which the many great and good works accomplished by the W. C. T. U. during the 25 years of its existence were strikingly set forth. A local branch of the W. C. T. U. was organized, with Mrs. W. T. Perkins as president, Mrs. Henry Wood, vice president, Mrs. N. H. Sheppard corresponding and recording secretary, and Miss MagKenton, treasurer. The Demorest silver medal contest, Monday evening, was by far the best attended of any of the sessions. The prize for the best declamation was awarded to Miss Myra Watson, daughter of Mrs. J. F. Watson.
