Lightning and Wire Fences.

In the month of September last 266 head of live stock were killed in lowa by lightning, and 118 of the victims were found In close contact with wire fences. If the fences did not serve as pathways for the fatal discharges, at least, it would appear, they afforded no protection to the animals near them.
