Honors For General Packard.

Gen. Jasper Packard, editor of the New Albany Tribune, who has numerous acquaintances in this city, was, Wednesday, elected commandant of the Indiana Soldiers’ Home at Lafayette. He succeeds Col. Megrew, who for three years has been at the head of the institution. Gen. Packard will accept the trust.
