Aged Woman Insane.

Mrs. Caroline Gant, an aged widow of Union Tp., now living with her son M. O. Gant, at Parr, was examined Wed., by Jus tics Burnham and Churchill, on the question of her sanity. The examination- took place in the office of Drs. Washburn & English, the consulting physicians. She is. 69 years old, a widow, and has been gradually* losing her mind for some years. She is thought to have paresis, or softening of the brain, an invariably hopeless and fatal disease. She is quiet for the most part but is subject to sndden fits of anger which she forgets all about in a few minutes. She sometimes threatens the lives of persons, and on a recent occasion pointed a gun atjy man in her son’s store. She was found insane and application will be made for her reception in Longcliff asylum.
