The County Assessors.

The Board of County Assessors met this, Friday, morning, at the county assessor’s office, in the court house. Organization was effectec by electing John O’Conner, of Walker, hs chairman, and J. F. Warren, of Rensselaer, secretary. All the townships were represented at the opening session except Gillam, the assessor from that township not being able to get here even for the afternoon meeting. The basis of assessment agreed upon is published in another place in this laper. The principal changes are some increases in the valuation of ive stock. Also in the matter of notes, for which there was formery a sliding scale of discounts, but now all good notes are to be unibrmly discounted six per cent., no more and no less.
