Burk-Cowden.

Married, at 8 o’clock p. m., Wednesday, March 23, 1899, Mr. Manly M. Burk and Miss Effie J. Cowden. The ceremony took place at the residence of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. James W. Cowden, just east of town. Rey. H. M. Middleton, pastor of Trinity M. E. church, was the officiating clergyman. About 25 or 30 persons were present, all relatives of the parties or near neighbors and friends. After the ceremony an elegant wedding supper was served. There was a large and very fine display of bridal presents. The newly married couple will make their home on M. H. Hemphill’s farm, north of town.
