Gone and Got Married.
Late Monday afternoon Charles Pefley, better known as “Gum” Pefley, arrived from Remington in a buggy. He repaired to the clerk’s offioe and procured a license to marry Miss Daisy Warner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Warner, and for some time past a clerk in Laßue Brothers’ Big Department store. Very soon thereafter the couple got into Mr. Pefley’s buggy and departed for Remington, and it is reported that they intended to stop* at the home of Rev. Carson, just this side of Remington, and be married. Mr. Pefley has lately engaged in the restaurant business at Remington. Miss Warner did not go to her home before going away, bnt sent a note stating where she was going and for what purpose. It is understood that her father objected seriously to Mr. Pefley, as a suitor of his daughter.
