RECRUITS ARE WANTED.

War Department Instructs Command* Ing Officers to Enlist More Soldiers. Orders have been telegraphed by the adjutant general of the army to commanding officers at all military posts to recruit their commands to the number authorized for the war. The War Department will resort also to the unusual method of-ad-vertising in the newspapers for recruits and will increase the number of recruiting offices throughout the country. Excluding ail men of the regular army who enlisted for the war, most of whom have been discharged, the regular army to-day consists of shout 40,000 men.
