NORTH BARKLEY.
Charley Bowers is visiting in Peru this week. Less Hewitt is on the sick list. Clara Zook visited Virgie Zook last Friday. Fred Schafer who has been working in this vicinity for the past two months returned to his home at Crown Point Friday. Adna Beedy of Blue Island, 111., visited T. M. Callahan a few days last week. Willis McMurray moved from DeMotte to Woodville Saturday and will act as foreman for B. J. Gifford. Andy Carrol and John Hamm and families moved to Poplar Bluffs, Missouri, last werek. Otis Beedy has gone to Chicago to work. He has secured a position in Alsup’s brick yard. Thomas Glyn of Dewey, 111., is visiting T. M. Callahan for a couple of weeks. From indications we are to have a new elevator at Gifford, the site has been sold and we presume they will build immediately. Alf Donnelly had better get a patent on his irrigation scheme or it will be monopolized by some of our onion growers. Better think up some scheme to kill potato bugs.
