The Stock Farm Is Ended.
The Rensselaer Stock Farm it now a thing of the past. It was started about 12 years ago, and a one time was quite a famous institution. It has owned some quite celebrated horses, in both cost andspeed. Their remaining horses, something over 50 ha number, were sold at auction Wednesday and Thursday, at Lafayette. There was a fair attendance at the sale and all horses offered sold readily. Most of the noted animals at the farm had been sold previoqsly, at private sale, and those sold at Lafayette were mostly young and unnamed animals. The highest price brought at the sale by any colt was $325.50. The entire sale aggregated $6,500. The Stock Farm belonged to W. A. Rinehart, T. J. McCoy and Delos Thompson. The land itself, which.is quite an extensive tract, is the property of Mr. Thompson. He has not fully decided what he will do with it, but probably will utilize it as a cattle ranch.
