A Silver Wedding Surprise.

The members of the congregation of the Presbyterian church to the number of fifty or more gathered at the home of their popular pastor, Rev. C. D. Jeffries Friday evening, and took with them a number of beautiful and useful presents, which were presented in a fitting and appropriate speech by Elder D. E. Hollister. The occasion was the 25th anniversary of the wedding day of the Pastor and his estimable wife. In accepting the gifts Mr. Jeffries responded in his usually happy vein, thanking the people and wishing a continuance of the pleasant relations that have existed between Pastor and people. Owing to Dr. Hillis’ lecture, the plan for a social was deferred until % a later occasion, when the congregation will be expected to come and spend a whole evening with the Pastor and his family.
