Risked His Life For Others.
Wm. M. Hoover, ex-county treasurer, is receiving many compliments these days for the heroic manner in which he risked his life to save two others, both young, a few days ago, . The endangered ones had gone out on the ice in the middle of the Big Slough ditch, which runs by Mr. Holer’s place, southwest of town. Mr. -Hoover rushed out and Saved one and carried it safely to shore and then went back, got the other, and started back with that one, when the ice broke and let them both into the deep water. Both were in great peril’, but Mr. Hoover heroically retained his grasp on the little one, and parties on the shore came to help him save it, and incidentally pulled out William himself also. The two little ones Mr. Hoover thus saved from watery graves were two bright and promising young pigs.
