Appealed To The Supreme Court.

The county commissioners have finally perfected an appeal to the Supreme Court, of the celebrated tax ferret contract case, in which Judge Palmer granted a perpetual injunction against the commissioners. Appeals have also been taken from Judge Thompson’s decision in two more recent cases. They are appeals from Judge Thompson’s rulings in dismissing the criminal proceedings against Frank E. Babcock, editor of the Rensselaer Democrat, for criminal libel, and against August Rosenbaum, a Rensselaer saloon keeper, for allowing unauthorized persons in his saloon, at hours forbidden by law.
