Tradition of the Wedding Ring.

The -wearing of the wedding ring on the third finger of the left hand follows the custom of the Egyptians, who believed that finger to be directly connected by a slender nerve to the heart Itself. And as these ancient worshipers of Isis held this finger sacred to Apollo gold was therefore chosen as the metal for the ring.
