Curiosities of Lakes.
If lakes have no overflow to the sea the water always becomes salty, particularly if there is small rainfall and much evaporation. The Caspian Sea is properly a salt lake. So is the Dead Sea. There are several lakes of considerable size in Canada vAich have no visible inlets, being fed entirely from subterranean sources.
