The Band Concert a Success.
The Sand concert Triday eyening was a brilliant success and drew a very’fine audience,’and considering the unfavorable weather and the counter attractions in other parts of town. The large house was a very notable proof of the great, but well deserved popularity of our band. The entertainment equalled and exceeded every reasonable anticipation. Of the many well received features, the appearance of little Mabel Huff in the character and costume of a “Little Lord Fauntleroy” was one of the most popular. The electrical effects were also a great feature. The Black-face quartette was also a great feature, and Charley Chamberlain had the crowd with him after he exhibited his big “spark.” The Mt. Ayr orchestra, a fine aggregation was present but could not get their instruments in tune with the opera bouse piano.
