Loving deeds spring from a loving heart as naturally as buds unfold into blossoms. There is no time for one to spend over ones own troubles if we keep on the lookout to help his neighbor bear his. Carpenter Township convention held last Sunday afternoon and evening was a decided success, the attendance although not large because of the weather was fair and all seemed to be there for business. All the subjects on the program were discussed although some who were to lead were absent. We missed the smiling face of our Co. Pres. Bro. Perkins also our Co. Sec. Miss Farmer. It was shown the township had made marked improvement uunug me year in several points and we look forward to betterthings in the future. The township is now being canvassed and we have a prospect of one new school, have four house Depts, one in the country with sixteen members, we are very glad to report several added to the church during the .year. We are under obligations to the friends who came over from Jordan township and helped us with their presence and words of cheer. The Hope S. S. of Carpenter township has we believe the only Normal class now in existence in the Co. We have seventeen members started with the first of the year and we believe this is the one thing needed in each community in the Co. to develope more and better teachers. It brightens any one up on Bible knowledge as Paul says it “Stirs up our minds by way of remembrance.” It stimulates research nnd unfolds the treasures of the dear old Bible to us in a way that nothing else can, we have adopted the plan of meeting at the homes of the different members, this encourages the social feature of the work which is of no small importance. We use the Normal Manual by Sundroth and will try to master it in a year the time however is not limited. Why can’t we have several classes to report at our next state convention?
