The Senatorial Situation.

Lafayette o&li: According to the latest, and apparently the best, figures the strength of the Senatorial candidates is divided as follows in the number of voteß piedged: Hanly ..26 Taylor 15 Posey 11 Steele 10 Beveridge ]0 Harris 1 As there are 89 Republican members of the Legislature, this leaves 16 doubtful votes. Mr. Hanly is still 19 votes short of the number necessary to elect, but at the rate at which his followers have increased there should not be much doubt of his ability to get these. The first ballot iu the caucus having established his strength and the futility of the efforts to elect other candidates will no doubt be followed by the support of the friends of the impossible candidates. The friends of Mr. Hanly have every reason to feel hopeful of his election.
