They Coyet Our Barney.
Valpo Messenger. There is a township hustler down in Jasper county by the name of B. D. Comer, who, it is related, has been in office fifteen months and during that time has built four miles of gravel road, and is now working on the fifth mile, and he pays as he goes. There is no petition to commissioners, elaborate surveys, elections and bond issues. He just invites the people of his township to turn out and help, and pays the men half-price out of the road fund. He hunted around and found three gravel pits in his township so he has no expense except for tile and labor. He expects to build good roads throughout his township before his term is finished and this without raising the road levy a cent or bonding the township a dollar. That trustee is needed in every township of the state.
