Death of Grant Hopkins.

Died, last Thursday morning, Dec. 29th, 1898, at 2:20. o’clock, at the residence of 'his wife’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. F. Clark, on Forest street. Grant Hopkins, aged 33 years, 10 months, 29 days. Ulyssus S. Grant Hopkins was the son of DeWitt C. and Lovice Hopkins, and was born four miles north of Rensselaer, Jan. 30th, 1865. Being born in the closing year of the great war, he was named in honor of the great general of that war. He always lived in Rensselaer orits immediate vicinity. He married Cora A. Clark, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore F. Clark,, Dec. 12, 1889. His wife survives him and also the one child born to them, a daughter 6 years old. He had been sick about nine weeks, with a complication of a kidney and liver trouble. He was a peacable, honorable and industrious citizen. Was for several years and until two weeks before his death, a member of the Rensselaer fire company. He was also a member for three years past, of the Rensselaer Christian church. The funeral will be held at the Christian Church, Saturday, Deo. 31st, at 10:30 a. m., by Rev. N. H. Sheppard. Interment will be in Weston cemetery.
