Civics Association.
A Rensselaer Civics Association was organized here Tuesday evening with the following officers: M. F. Chilcote, Pres.; G. E. Marshall, Vice-Pres.; J. F. Warren, Sec-, Treas. and Organizer; David B. Nowels and Harrie R. Kurrie, Leaders. The course of instruction for the year is upon the important and vital subjects of Political' Economy, Political Science and Sociology. It is provided by the University Association of Chicago and is under the especial direction of the noted political economist, Dr. Richard T. Ely, of the University of Wisconsin. The plan of work places a scientific knowledge of these questions within the reach of all. The class will meet for its first discussion of the lessons at the home of Rev. H. M. Middleton on next Friday evening. Any one desiring to take advantage of this rare opportunity of higher instruction should give his (or her) name to the organizer, Mr Warren, to be presented to the class. The course for the year, including certificate of membership, examinations, diplomas, etc., only $3.75.
