Sudden Death of Joseph Green.
Joseph L. Green, an old and well known resident of Marion tp., died at his home, 3| miles southeast of Rensselaer, Sunday morning, Dec. Uth aged about 77 years. He was in his usual good health Saturday, and did his usual day’s work, but in the evening complained of being tired. About 4 o’clock Sunday morning, he awakened his wife and complained of severe pain in his shoulders, and of being very cold. His wife endeavored to relieve the pain and the coldness by hot applications, and after a time suggested that he turn over, but he was unable to move. She took hold to assist him to turn and has just done so,when he gave a gasp and expired, just a half hour after he first awakened his wife. It is supposed that a heart disease of some kind caused his death. There was no one else in the house at the time except Mrs. Green; thus the sad occurence was a more than usually distressing and trying one'for her. Mr. Green was born in Harrison Co., Ohio, and has lived in this county for 16 years, excepting about a year spent in Porter county. His near surviving relatives are his wife and one daughter. The latter was teaching in Porter country, where she has relatives, when her father’s death occurred. The funeral will be held Tuesday, at 10:30 a. m. at Watson school house, by Rev. H. M. Middleton. Enterment will be at Crockett cemetery.
