A Death at the County Farm.
John A. King, the party mentioned as being sick at the poor farm, died there at noon on Thursday, Deo. Bth. He came from Chicago to Blackford about 6 weeks ago, and worked for different parties, until last Friday, Dec. 2nd, among others working for John Renicker. On Friday he had a fit or parlalytio stroke, while alone on the road, and fell in a ditch, and finally turned up at Bowman Switzer’s, wet and chilled through. They took the best care of him they could, but that night he was taken very sick and during the night was found unconscious on the floor. He continued very sick and Switzer not being able to bear the expense of caring for him, he was taken to the county farm, reaching there at 1 o’clock P. M. Wednesday, and dying at noon the next day. He leaves a wife and daughter in Chicago, but the wife is divorced and married again. He was on his way to Defiance, Ohio, his former home. A sister formerly lived in this vicinity. She is the wife of Rev. J. W. Clear, a Dunkard minister, now at Cerro Gordo, 111. Although broken down, and unfortunate, the man evidently was well-behaved and respectable, and had seen better days- He was about 52 years old. He was buried Friday afternoon in the county’s lots in Weston cemetery.
