Rensselaer Semi-Weekly Republican, Volume 20, Number 29, Rensselaer, Jasper County, 13 December 1898 — Buck Stanley at Mt. Ayr. [ARTICLE]
Buck Stanley at Mt. Ayr.
Mr. Editor: That the reader may know something of Mr. Stanley’s work at Mt. Ayr I give this little sketch of Monday evening’s meeting. The meeting was opened by the Mt. Ayr choir whose singing can not be surpassed by the choirs of any of our small cities. Then followed a selection by the Mt. Ayr Band. The McCoy Sheep-skin Band of Rensselaer, was also there and rendered some excellent music after which Mr. Stanley proceeded with his lecture which was exceedingly good. Mr. Stanley is doing a grand work, and I think one and all of us should do all in our power to help the glorious cause along. A Friend.
