The board of trustees of the Longcliff hospital for the insane relate, in the sixth biennial report filed with the governor, that more than 1,000 insane persons in the northern district, which includes Jasper county, cannot be taken care of for lack of room at the hospital. An earnest plea for the erection of anew ward is made: The legislature is asked to appropriate >BO,OOO for a new building that will accommodate 200 additional patients.
