NORTH BARKLEY.
Mr, Leu Yack, of Williamsport, Indiana, is visiting his sister, Mrs. A. L. Bowlus a few days this week. Mr, William Beedy, Frank Hes and Bill ftieford of Blue Island, 111., are visiting the former parents for a few days this week. Mr. B. J. Gifford will begin shelling corn Wednesday morning, he has about one hundred thousand bu. T. M. Callahan and Harry Gifford shipped a car load of onions to Louisville, Kentucky Friday. John Holliday, of Rensselaer, visited vicinity Saturday and Sunday. The town of Gifford has been surveyed and will begin building immediatly, lumber is being sawed for store room and office now. Mr. Aaron Geitz, who has been visiting her parents in Mo returned home last week. The box supper at Canada school was a very pleasant affair and every one seemed to enjoy themselves. The best of order was maintained. The teacher wishes to express his sincere thanks to the patrons for their good behavior and liberal way in which they contributed towards the library. Ella Callahan received the prize, un autograph album, for being the most popular young lady. John Fanson a pipe and package of tobacco for being the homeliest man and T. M. Callahan a pair of socks for having the dirtiest feet. Net proceeds SIO.OO.
