Sunday School Column.
Conducted by W. G. Smalley, RK.MfNGTOS, INDIANA. “He did the best he could” is the highest praise that can be said of any one. “God’s will to know” and God’s will to do” are two matters everj r young earnest Christian should strive to carry with him every day. We hope to see a goodly number of township presidents at our executive meeting Saturday at the Missionary Baptist church. Let us make that day the beginning of greater works for God than we have done before. We are proud of what has been done in the past but let us go on and do more and greater things. Fellow workers there is so much we can do. “Let us go up and possess the land for we are abundantly able.”
Your bumble servant drove to Center school house in Milroy township last Sunday to attend their convention but found it postponed because of the disagreeable weather. A convention will be held soon however as Pres. McDonald is thoroughly alive to the ft. ft. interests in nis township and has energy and pluck enough to push the work earnestly. I only wish we had more like him in our Co. By the way a new church building will soon be under way in Milroy. The old year is fast drawing to a Hose and we as S. S. workers should begin to select our helps for another year. All of the county officers ought by all means to lake the International Evangel published at St. Louis, personally we think it the most helpful of any paper that comes to us. Just now it can be had for fifty cents per year. The Sunday School Times is a helper indeed and needs no recommendation. Of course we all will take the Awakener — wouldn’t think of getting along without it. The Trumpet Call, the Illinois state organ is a splendid little paper, especially helpful in Normal drills. All of the above with a copy of the report of the London Convention, the Minutes of the last Field Workers Ass’n. and report of the Boston Convention wiil equip any body for first class S. S. work. Surely we cannot do our best for the Master unless we have helps of this nature Why not elect one of the Ex. Com. to look after tlie matter of subscriptions?
