A Good Scheme.
The Crawfordsville Argus contains the following which oould possibly be put in practioe here: Trustee Symmes has hit upon a scheme whereby, with the aid of the public, he hopes to reduce the poor account very considerably. He will keep a memorandum book and anyono who has a small job to be performed will confer a favor by notifying him. Then fts the able bodied parties, who must have township aid, apply, instead of giving riM’iu a warrant the trustee will direct them to a job where they can eat:i fifty cents or a dollar. Anyone Werv’ng aid would not refuse r.nd it is safe to say that any dumi ioiuoal would foi’evef cook the gentleman’s goose in so far aK township warrants are concerned. The scheme is a practical one and it the citizens will but do their pint, the township will be saved many a dollar.
