The Crawfords are Cleaned Out.
Attica Ledger: Citizens of Attica will remember the Crawfords who built the Coal Road and bow the workmen and merchants were swindled by that prince of slick artists, but they can have the satisfaction now of knowing that Mr. Crawford has very little left with all his fly schemes. A short time ago creditors gobbled his private oar and sold it at sheriff’s sale, then they went down the line of his road, the Indiana Midland, and levied on the rolling stock from engines to box cars and took everything in sight. Bat on last Saturday oame the climax when one of his workmen started in on the general offices at Anderson and levied on the safe, the only thing left to take. Of course there was nothing in the safe and the rest of his employes will have to whistle for their pay. The largest and most complete line of holiday goods ever seen in Rensselaer. Chicago Bargain Store. House to rent. W. R. Cotton.
