Sunday School Column.

Conducted by W. G. Smalley, REMINGTON, INDIANA. We should be distributing centers of Christ’s virtues. Be such s man, live such a life that, if every man w&re such as you, and every life like yours, this earth would be God’s paradise. Milroy Township Ass’n. will hold their fall convention Dec. 4th, next Sunday beginning at 10 o’clock a. m. Let all Co. officers who can possibly attend be there as well as everybody else. They have a good program and we think they will have a rousing good meeting. Your correspondent attended the Newton Co. Convention at Morocco on Nov. 21-22. It was one of the very best meetings we have attended this year. State Supt. Meigs was there and his talks were , very helpful to all S. S. workers. His lecture in the evening on I “What 1 saw when i went to sea” j was a rich treat being both interest-; ing and instructive, his descriptions of Paris and London as they appeared to him were very interesting. At one session he spoke on ■ “God’s use of common people” us \ ing ouch characters as Lincoln, Moody, David, Gideon, &c., to illustrate. Another of his subjects was “How to teach next. Sunday’s lesson to the class and how to en-! i-v 'hr v'oi’b” both .uhmets were - - * intensely interesting to all present.! He reporls our stato in good condition with great gains in almost everv dennrtnient, of the work. All 1 the townships in the Co. were rep- 1 resented except one, they have but two cr np schools in the whole Co. which is an object lesson to us as we have so many who close for some reason; they have only thirty four schools however while we have sixty four. Newton county had nineteen schools two years ago which is a big gain in two years, we have increased over thirty three and wile third per cent, however in that time which makes us feel justly proud. We ought to try to do more and better work in the schools we already have and bring them up to a higher standard rather than to organize more schools. Thera ip a great deal that can be added to the best school we have in our county.
