Bad Fire in the Indianapolis Medical College.

Fire broke out in the Medical College of Indiana at 4 o’clock Friday morning spreading very rapidly from the basement l|oor to the top story destroying the entire north half of the building together with the 4th story. The laboratories and all but one recitation room were saved. The damage done by fire and water, although as yet unesti mated, was very great. Very much of the building will have to be rebuilt. The lectures will be continued as soon as rooms can be secured. The two doctors who are in charge of the college free dispensary barely escaped Lum thy building with their lives; it is thought that one of them will die from the effects of the very severe burning which he received. Ernest E. Wishard and Arthur Krcsler are in attendance at this college. This is the third fire in the history cf the college; the last being in 1894 when the college building was totally destroyed, after which the present college building was erected. Cause of the fire is unknown but supposed to have originated from some defect in the furnace.
