The New Officers.

The term of office of Myrt B. Price, as county surveyor, began Monday, Nov. 23. and is for two years. Sheriff Reed’s new term began on Wednesday, Nov 23rd. Of the two newly elected commissioners, Simeon Dowell, of the second district, will take his office at the December term, of the commissioner’s court. He will succeed John Martindale, whose term will then expire. Abraham Halleck’s new term, as commissioner from the first district, will not begin until a year from the coming December. The commissioners are elected for three years. The term of office of R. A. Parkison, the treasurer elect will begin the Ist of January 1900. The term is two years. Wm. C. Babcock, as count}’ auditor, will begin his four years term Nov. Ist, 1899, or nearly a year from now. John L. Major, as county clerk, will have to wait the longest of anyone for his term to begin, as Mr. Coover's term will not end until May 1900, or far into the closing year of the 19th century. He will stay four years when he gets there, however.
