The State Normal Schcol.

Last year the State Normal 1 School enrolled students as follows: fall term, 537; winter term, 572; spring term, 1189, summer term, 618. The total enrollment of different students was 1731. The proper capacity of the school is about one thousand, but in the spring term, to accommodate as fully as possible the needs of the teachers, about twelve hundred are admitted. From this statement it will be seen that the school can take care of a much larger attendance in the fall and winter terms. To meet the needs "f the common ’ ‘ of the state more fully, the board of trustees has recently decided to admit hereafter, in the fall and winter terms, all persons holding the six months’ county license to teach in Indiana. These persons will not be admitted to the regular course of instruction, but will be given onp or more terms’ preparatory work. This will not be credited on the regular course, the standard for admission to this remaining as heretofore. This action is to take immediate effect, and the school will admit, at the opening of the coining winter term, January 3, 1899, to a preparatory course, such persons as hold the six months’ license and meet the other conditions of admission.
